Strategy

To enter your organisation's Core Values follow the steps below.

STEP 1: Go to Planning > Strategic  > Strategy.

STEP 2: Select the associated Outcome from the dropdown and click on 'Add New' icon to add a new strategy.

STEP 3: Enter a title and other information as relevant.

While only the Title field is mandatory, it is recommended that more information is included to take advantage of the many links available.

These links enable a number of different reports to include the Strategy, as well as underlying Actions.

Field

Description/Instruction

Mandatory/Optional

Description

Enter description of the strategy.

Optional

Priority Criteria

Select one of the pre-defined ‘PRIORITIES’ from the dropdown list. This must be completed for the ‘Priorities and Agencies’ Strategic Plan report to contain information in the relevant fields.

Optional

Responsible Person

Select one of the pre-defined ‘STAFF’ from the dropdown list. If a new person is required, they must be entered into the Staff section.  The allocation of one strategy to one person will ensure clarity of purpose within the organisation.

Optional

Primary & Secondary Agency

Select agencies from the list.

At least one ‘AGENCY’ must be nominated in order for this strategy to appear in the ‘Priorities and Agencies’ Strategic Plan Report. That agency may be the organisation itself.

Optional

Governance & Target Initiatives

These fields allow users to see a ‘matrix’ view of their Strategic Management Plans rather than the traditional ‘organisation’ view.

Optional

STEP 4:
Other Agencies may also be entered after the Strategy has been saved by clicking on the ‘Other Agencies’ button, and entering them into the Other Agencies screen.

You can change the ID of this item by using the ‘Move to’ tool which effectively repositions it within the hierarchy.
ID numbers are automatically adjusted.

This completes the setup of the Strategic Plan.  As you can see, a number of links have now been set up within the plan – Strategies link to Outcomes, and Outcomes link to Goals.

If you want a “bird’s eye” view of your complete planning structure, you can go to the Navigation Pad from within the Strategic Planning menu. This screen allows you to follow the linkages from your highest level strategic goals through to your lowest level actions.

This is a powerful tool to easily see how the actions that you are responsible for fit in to your organisation’s goals and strategic plan.
